Review of The Boss Baby (2017) by Noah S — 25 Apr 2017
I was pleasantly surprised by this film. I admit that I went in with the expectation that this would be a lackluster movie with much to be desired. However by the 20 minute mark I had already laughed a couple of times and had actually invested myself in the story.
It is a remarkably simple story without that much content in it, yet the movie somehow fit it perfectly into a reasonably 100 minute run-time. Quite a bit more of the jokes made me laugh, well over a 3/4ths of the jokes got me to at least smile. Very pleasing visuals and a good, if not different, design for the animated humans with very expressive faces and actual body language. Alec Baldwin is wonderful and fits the role that they needed for the baby character, making me forget it was even him doing the voice!
I don't actually have the time to review this movie, but considering what I'd heard from people regarding this movie it beat all my expectations. I recommend this to anyone who is a fan of Mr. Baldwin, animated films or even just straightforward comedies.
Well done, DreamWorks!
