Review of The Boss Baby (2017) by Prabhat K — 18 May 2017
Snappy little movie with cool wizardry on visuals. You can get through this movie fine but with little sense of uneasy. Clearly meant for children below 6, you might wonder what these writers, producers and voice actors were going through.
There is a hint of psychedelic trips and the whole time you might wonder the elder kid is not at all right in his mind, the movie could end up being dark. If all the point it achieves is to get a boy learn to ride a cycle and an employee to realize he's stuck in loops, then congratulation for getting to such feats.
It seems like someone was having a hard time managing kids while working and he/she came up with this goofy idea. Random reasonings and pointless plotholes. Glory to the aging potion, memory wipe charm, and baby's ass.
Set of emotions it caters to - "being replaced" "developing feeling for another human cuz of proximity and time" "feeling sorry for each other for missing out". A simple anime has better emotions than that.
Ofcourse this movie will make good money and kudos to Alec Baldwin for being weird.
