Review of The Boss Baby (2017) by Andrew J — 15 Oct 2017
To say I was pleasantly surprised at some of the story elements in this movie kind of demonstrates the low bar we have set for ourselves when it comes to watching kids movies with ridiculous premises. What starts off as a parable to jealousy from an older sibling turns into a story that may resonate with those of us who have felt jealousy of any kind.
The last few minutes of the film can be interpreted in a rather dark way, and it kind of left a bad taste in my mouth. Yes, the voice cast is excellent, with Alec Baldwin doing what he does best: playing an entitled corporate blowhard ("Cookies are for closers!"), so it's a passable way to spend an afternoon.
