Review of The Boss Baby (2017) by Kooledud — 06 Aug 2017
A very mediocre movie that was made by the same guy who created "Megamind" and "Madagascar"...
The Boss Baby is about a 7 year old kid named Tim who has a wild imagination, and loves all the attention he's getting from his parents. Everything is good, until one day his little brother shows up, and changes everything. Turns out this little brother is from a company called Baby Corp, which is like "Baby Heaven." His mission is to make people love babies more than puppies, and to stop this community called "Puppy Corp" from making a new puppy, because it will destroy Baby Corp. So Tim and Boss Baby made a deal and teamed up to stop Puppy Corp, because if they succeed, Tim can have his attention back and Boss Baby will go back to Baby Corp.
The plot is bland and ridiculous. It's filled with immature humor, crap humor, and ass humor. The issue is that I only laughed once, and that's it. While Tim's imagination is creative, it might make you say "What just happened?" The characters aren't likable. You have Tim, the jealous big brother who wants his attention back. The parents, who are mindless. The Boss Baby, the cliche-like baby that wants to be boss in Baby Corp (Hell, Stewie from Family Guy is a lot more enjoyable than Boss Baby.) There is a lot more, but most are just not likable.
Over and all, even though the animation is decent, that's not enough to save this film. A very poorly executed film. It's not the worst, but it's just not good.
