Review of The Boss Baby (2017) by Calvin C — 31 Jul 2017
A high-concept idea, even for an animated film, that works thanks to Alec Baldwin as the title character. The Boss Baby is sent on a mission to find out why puppies are getting more love than babies. He is not merely a baby who has the mind of an adult, he actually has a purpose which makes the plot fun. The story is surprisingly deep with themes of family, belonging, and acceptance. There is a sweetness to the movie among all the clever one-liners, adult jokes, and comedic scenes. It doesn't come too often, but this is a kids movie both the kids and their parents will enjoy.
GRADE: B.
