Review of The Boss (2016) by Michael L — 12 Apr 2016
Melissa McCarthy can usually do no wrong in film. Her comedic style is near perfect (See "The Heat" for a great example). So we eagerly went to see The Boss mainly because I almost fell out of my chair watching the previews and trailers.
Unfortunately, if you've seen the trailers, you've pretty much seen the funny parts. It is an amusing film, worth seeing as the actors play well together, and it's only 90 minutes so it won't kill you. But do not go there expecting 90 minutes of drop-on -the-floor laughter because, like I said, if you've seen the trailer, you've seen the film.
Not McCarthy's best, but still an admirable effort. Worth seeing, but I didn't love it.
