Review of The Boss (2016) by Usability T — 21 Apr 2016
I know what you are immediately thinking...why would someone give this movie an 4 out of 5 stars when the Tomatometer is only at 19%. Honestly, this is a movie that is all about individual tastes, and whatever your tastes may be is how you will enjoy this movie.
I can admit that I have seen better from Melissa McCarthy. Also she is still her usual self within this movie, there has certainly been better. But again, as I said above, it is all about tastes. The movie is filled with rude, insensitive, toilet humor that practically drives the plot of the movie.
But to me, that doesn't matter. I didn't come to this movie expecting any form of serious plot that I would go home and ponder in the shower. No, I came to have some laughs with a bag of popcorn and enjoy the night, and that is exactly what I was given. With this movie, all I can stress to you is do not read "personal opinions", because if you, like me, find the idea of McCarthy punching a young girl in the face and then proceeding to take drugs with Peter Dinklage a good night, then go and see this movie. If that doesn't sound like a good time, then don't go. Simple as that...except, my personal opinion would state that you would definitely be missing out.
Score: 8/10.
Single-Sentence-Summary: With the amount of swearing and fists being thrown, you'd think Peter Dinklage was actually playing Tyrion Lannister.
