Review of The Boss (2016) by Carol S — 24 Jun 2016
The current queen of comedy films, Melissa McCarthy features in a Melissa McCarthy film who plays Melissa McCarthy with all her Melissa McCarthy traits, in The Boss. Now I like McCarthy, she's a very likeable actress, but I'm starting to get what I call "McCarthy Fatigue".
The script and supposedly funny gags were just not good enough and that brings McCarthy down. I probably only laughed once, and even then it was probably a little snigger. The supporting actors are fine and there are one or two good scenes (especially the cookie group showdown).
Overall, The Boss is another forgettable comedy film that could've and should've been better.
