Review of The Borderlands (2014) by Mique W — 06 Apr 2014
Low-budget found footage flick which is mercilessly short on scares and thrills. Theres nothing original here, its the typical haunted-house formula only its dull. the found footage aspect is so inelegantly spliced together that we lose focus on what the characters are going after and whether they're still in the right state of mind.
For long stretches of time, not much happens, the lackluster approach doesn't benefit the film at all even if, from time to time, convoluted mythology is plonked on the screen and used for nothing but attempted scared and unexplained kills.
