Review of The Border (1982) by Adam G — 04 Sep 2009
Overall this was a pretty good movie. Nicholsan's character reminds me a little of his role in Five Easy Pieces in some ways. Harvey Keitel was alright in it too. Unfortunately the movie is marred by some ridiculous action scenes and two-dimensional villains that cheapen it a great deal.
I get the feeling that some Hollywood executive gave the director a few too many notes or something. The credits said that the music was by Ry Cooder but it all pretty much sucked and didn't sound like his stuff to me.
It could have been much better with just a few changes here and there.
