It's been a rough nine years for Sean Patrick Flanery huh? He has not aged very well. Also, before I get started, I don't want this to come across as insensitive, but Judd Nelson really looked like he was strung out on something here.

Is it just me??? It was sad to see actually. Anyway this movie is no good, the first Boondock wasn't good, but it was fun. This movie lacks that fun atmosphere the first one had, that's not to say this movie doesn't try to be fun, but it feels really forced.

Like what's up with that scene where they go over the plan and the plan plays out in a very corny 70s style exploitation action scene. I didn't get it, the movie was trying to be silly for the sake of it and it just felt forced and contrived.

This movie comes across, to me, as Troy Duffy's last ditch effort to get himself back into hollywood after getting himself blacklisted, that's what it feels like. If the Boondock Saints hadn't been such a hit on DVD, nobody would have even bothered with Troy anymore, so this sequel feels like his way to earn some money and hopefully get himself noticed by someone again.

Unless this movie ends up being a huge cult hit on DVD, then I see no reason why this movie should change things for Mr. Duffy. I've seen the documentary based on Duffy's rise and eventual fall (it's called Overnight) and he comes across as such a humongous dick to absolutely everyone that I just don't see a future for Duffy other than more sequels for Boondock Saints.

But with each and every sequel that's released, the "legacy" is tainted and tainted, so while this movie sets up a sequel, I see the sequels becoming even less successful than the movie before it.

That's the problem with this movie, it's not a sequel that needed to happen and it probably SHOULDN'T have happened. It's a very silly and over-the-top movie, like the first one, it's style over substance and there's not a lot of style in this movie.

It also tries to combine comedy and seriousness and it just fails miserably. It's not paced well enough for the comedy to stand out or for you to actually take any of it seriously. The dialogue is ABSURD, you've never SEEN more absurd dialogue in a movie.

It's not a bad movie by any means, but I finished watching this at least an hour ago and I can't remember a lot of it, and that's nobody's fault but the movie itself. Fans of the original movie MAY like it, but everyone else should probably stay away.
