Review of The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day (2009) by Stacey T — 09 Aug 2010
It is a miracle that this sequel ever got made, which is a shame because Troy Duffy has serious writing skills. For those of you who donâ??t know, Troy Duff who wrote and directed The Boondock Saints was thought by all of Hollywood to be the next Tarantino, but his ego got to him and he ended up pissing off all the bigwigs because he thought everyone was dying to get a piece of him, and he burned every Hollywood bridge that he had built.
Boondock Saints was supposed to be a Summer Blockbuster but after all the fights it ended up basically being a Straight to DVD film which found a lot of unexpected underground success and thatâ??s the reason why youâ??ve ever heard of it.
Anyway, someone must have given him a second chance and funded All Saints Day, which is a good and very entertaining flick that has a lot of the same stuff that you like about the first one. I hope to see more from Troy.
Maybe he has changed his attitude what will be a big success. If you are looking for a fun movie from RedBox, this is it.
