Review of The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day (2009) by Joel B — 25 Jun 2011
I hated the movie 6.5 minutes into it. Already, you can tell the quality is poor, and whoever is behind the movie is trying too hard to make it epic like the first one... but had failed miserably.
First off....
NO ONE WILL EVER REPLACE DETECTIVE SMECKER AND ROCCO. They think that a Mexican with long wavy hair is going to replace Rocco, and a having an actress that has a horrible southern accent that uses a few of Smecker's lines and attempts (KEY WORD: ATTEMPTS) Smecker's demeanor will replace Smecker? They are horribly mistaken.
Even Greenly isn't Greenly, even though it's the same actor (but 10 years older...).
The soundtrack is nothing like the first one, where it was wordless yet powerful. Now they use just.. songs. Definitely not the same effect.
Next, what the hell is up with the crappy looking tattoos on their back? That's really overdone. Their trademark is the very simple and downplayed tattoos on their hands, not the over-the-top crap on their backs.
Ok... they are all also 10 years older now... everyone is saggy and pathetic looking. It's pathetic.
I'm going to try and erase my brain now, and try to pretend like this movie never happened, and doesn't exist.
