Review of The Boondock Saints (1999) by Forrest E — 15 Jul 2012
I enjoyed this movie. When I was twelve. Now, after watching it again at a more mature (I use that word lightly) age, I find that The Boondock Saints is trying so hard to be cool and flashy that it just comes off as pathetic.
This film lacks any semblance of human emotion, the characters are unlikable, and the "tough Irish guy" theme that permeates the movie feels more like misogyny than masculinity. But I have to give Troy Duffy one thing--he is a god-tier asshole.
