Quiet and powerful British drama with superb performances by Emily Mortimer and Bill Nighy. Also Patricia Clarkson plays the "baddie" to the hilt and an excellent performance from the young Honor Kneafsey.
I have not read the novel by Penelope Fitzgerald so I was not prepared for the way this movie eventually went.
