Review of The Book Thief (2013) by Richard S — 07 Jul 2014

I thought this was a really good adaptation of the book with a cast that fit the characters I know from the book very well.

Negative reviews have said the film looks too glossy and pretty given the subject matter but I think you have to remember the story is seen from a child's point of view and children are not so quick to realise the grim reality of the situation and so I think the look of the film fits well.

Death's narrative is spot on too, perfect voice, just how I imagined it.
