Review of The Book Thief (2013) by Spencer K — 03 Dec 2014
Due to the strong subject matter of this film, I guess I was just expecting something more, but they really played it safe with this one. I expected them to do a lot more with this but they really didn't embrace the plot and subject matter as much as they should have.
The performances are very good though from everybody involved. The directing and the script was good, too. It just really took me out of the movie on how safe and restrained they took with this heavy, very mature topic.
