Review of The Book of Love (2017) by Kcostabile — 18 Jan 2017
I think it is a perfect first date film because it is a conversation-starter. It deals with grief and loss and also hope. I think Maisie's character serves much like the boy scout in the animated film "UP" who got roped into an adventure about a floating house.
Grief can be both whimsical and surreal. "Thelma and Louise" also dealt with serious themes in an offbeat way and had us cheering for them in the end. For me, this film brought those other two to mind.
Game of Thrones fans will not be disappointed.
