Review of The Book of Love (2017) by Kevin R — 29 Aug 2018
Mushy drama dealing with grief and friendship somewhat superficially, but manages to deliver a few very touching punches throughout its run. Timberlake's soundtrack does sound pretty but is used sometimes a little too prominently, telling you exactly how to feel at any given moment.
A little more subtlety would have done the film some good, but the cast is pretty convincing. The plot misses a few pretty interesting chances for unexpected twists, but overall the result is still satisfying.
