Review of The Book of Life (2014) by Nick V — 26 Jan 2016
My kids enjoyed watching this movie, and even watched it one more time. This just proves how the director and scriptwriter succeeded in making such a seemingly simple storyline so interesting and fun to watch.
At the same time, my kids got curious about Mexico and its holiday (Dia de Muertos), bullfighting, and everything Mexican. As for its music, I was captivated by the song "I Love You Too Much" as well as "The Apology Song".
The Award-winning Gustavo Santaolalla more than made it worth my while to watch and listen to this visual feast. Yes, in one word, the movie can very well be described as one truly spectacular feast about death and life in general.
