Review of The Book of Life (1998) by Derek B — 02 Apr 2011
The narrative is quite boring at times, but stylistically and visually this is so captivating that it makes up for it, and at just one hour long it does not outstay its welcome. Thomas Jay Ryan is excellent as another Bukowskian anti-hero - well, the ultimate anti-hero really (he's Satan).
The soundtrack is also excellent.
