Review of The Book of Eli (2010) by Peter N — 02 Sep 2012
The Book of Eli effectively blends a familiar post-apocalyptic atmosphere with a unique plot that keeps things fresh. Unfortunately, things never really get interesting. The world (or whatever's left of it) that has been created for this film is pretty bland, especially when it teases at the idea that this is a dog-eat-dog wasteland filled with violence and danger at every turn.
My favorite aspect of the film is the ending, which I really didn't see coming. It's a clever twist, and the fact that even the characters were oblivious to it makes it even better.
