Review of The Book of Eli (2010) by Vinay M — 04 Nov 2012
Hmmm.
How come the future is always Dystopian? In this - which initially comes across as a mix between Mad Max and The Postman - Denzel Washington stars as a loner (again, why always a loner?) travelling the roads of a post-apocalypse America, in charge of a book (later shown to be The King James Bible) that others will kill for.
Cue lots of sweeping shots of a desolate wasteland, and a little bit of action, for a result that is not as good as the a-fore-mentioned Mad Max films (particularly 'The Road Warrior').
