Review of The Book of Eli (2010) by Sam F — 15 Jan 2013
Eli is a man born before "The Flash" (nuclear war) who's only job is to get one of the only if not the only Bible on earth to the west. This post apocalyptic earth is totally bent on trying to take Eli's stuff and of course always fail at it.
Led by God, Eli does everything possible to complete his mission, even if it means cutting some heads or arms off, capping some knee caps, or shooting an arrow through a mans baby maker. Eli, though led by God makes some bad calls, much like any Christian, which makes this movie relate to a lot more people.
What I like about this movie is that though it is filled with several F-bombs and access of gore, the message can still be seen: have faith in God. Also the surprise end reveals a totally mind blowing secret about Eli which makes the movie 10x's better, Eli 10x's more hardcore, and Eli's faith 10x's more legit.
This is one of my all time favorite movies and recommend it to any movie goer as a must see. [Violence 9/10, Language 8/10, Sexual Content 1/10].
