Review of The Book of Eli (2010) by Stephen A — 09 Feb 2013
Not that there is much wrong with this movie, it's just that there's nothing great about it. If you like the meat-and-potatoes christian science fiction, then this is your sort of movie. I admit, the perspective is actually interesting at first, but then as the movie continues in its monotony you realize the similarities between the one-trick-pony Denzel Washington and christianity itself - no offense: that is just personally how I feel.
It could be suspenseful to some, but for people like myself who find that God will always have something up Denzel's sleeve it is simply ruined. There is one good side to this movie and that is Mila Kunis, who should've been nominated an Oscar; terribly interesting character and perfectly played.
