I have never read the book this is based on, but have always avoided it cause it has such awful reviews for it.

I didn't think it deserves the rotten reviews it has, as the film was pretty entertaining, just a tad too hokey.

The film starts off alright, but at some point it stops taking itself seriously and starts trying to wag it's finger at how over the top they can be, while being over the top itself.

I actually liked Hanks here, but Willis is just kind of there, and while Griffith is totally sexy, she progressively gets worse for acting as the film goes along. Rubinek plays a fantastic douchebag, but Kim Cattrall is just odd here.

And look for a super young Kirsten Dunst as Hanks' daughter!

The film is decent, neither great nor awful, but had the film had a more serious tone, it could have been a lot better.
