Review of The Blues Brothers (1980) by Steve G — 16 Oct 2010
Hilarious movie. And, in an odd way, kind of a good message. Great music, strong characters, hysterical one-liners, exciting action, & fantastic cameos.
I generally tend to bridle at the anti-hero movies that persisted since the late 60s. Where people whom we'd probably hate in real life (eg. Beavis & Butthead) are presented as the protagonists. But like Beavis & Butthead, these two are so funny, it's hard not to like them.
Amusing that, in the very same week she starred as an incestual intergalactic princess, Carrie Fisher appears as the psychotically violent would-be assassin here. lol.
