CULT MOVIE MONTH.

THE BLUES BROTHERS [1980]: Their on a hell bent mission from God and will stop at nothing to see it through. THE BLUES BROTHERS is without a doubt one awesome cult classic for its ultra-high octane destructive and cool nature with the record of having the most cars destroyed onscreen before its own sequel surpassed it. When Jake Blues is realised from prison and when he and his brother Elwood are shocked to learn that their old orphanage will be torn down if someone doesn't pay the outstanding debuts. In an attempt to redeem themselves in the eyes of the head of the Orphanage a strict Nun, the Blues Brothers decide to get back their old R&B band to raise a benefit concept. And they would stop at nothing even if it means destroying a tonne of cars, upsetting everyone from the police, a redneck Band & Neo-Nazis and trying to avoid from being killed by Jake's homicidal ex-fiancée (Carrie Fisher) along the road to redemption.

Overall Thoughts: Combined with mildly entertaining jokes & sketches, deadpan reactions to the chaos, outrageous cameos from R&B legends like Aretha Franklin, James Brown & Ray Charles, a brilliant soundtrack and total destruction of cars galore. THE BLUES BROTHERS is one highly entertaining cult classic which deserves a solid 80% from me.
