Review of The Blues Brothers (1980) by Tyler R — 22 Sep 2012
Based on an SNL skit, "The Blues Brothers" follows two brothers as they go cross country to get the band back together to save the orphanage they grew up in. The film is a wildly entertaining one, packed with cameos ranging from the funniest comedians, the best musicians, and even a cameo from legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg.
The film moves along at a brisk pace, filled with absolutely off the wall sight gags and dirty humor. Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi olay their characters perfectly. They play with their lines and deliver them with such conviction that the shock value of them is hilarious.
The film is a great musical/comedy, and anyone who likes either should check it out.
