Review of The Blues Brothers (1980) by Kevin S — 08 Mar 2014
Brothers Jacob who is fresh out of prison and Ellwood make a promise to raise money to save the catholic Church that raised them. So they bring back the old band together to raise the money. They don't have any gigs so they stop at random places and do their thing.
On the way to their mission they are running from cops, nazi's, some crazy women, and a band they duped. This movie is a classic. It was a great SNL skit that they turned into a movie. It is loaded with lots of laughs and tons of great music.
And lots of great actors and cameos like of course dan akroyd, john balushi. And then there's Carrie fisher, john candy, aretha franklin, and even ray Charles. This movie is alot of fun. Both Aykroyd and balushi are on top of their game here.
It is a joyous and fun musical that is filled with entertainment right to the very end.
