Review of The Blue Max (1966) by Gary C — 18 Jun 2008
George Peppard shines in his role as the arrogant Bruno Satchel. Great actiion scenes and you'll fly right along with the pilots. Even Ursula Andress gives a good performance here and James Mason is perfect for his role.
What makes this movie great to me is the underlying theme that war is disastrous. It highlights the facade that war is somehow glorious and those who partake are somehow gallant. Yes, a fitting surprise ending!
