(1946) The Blue Dehlia.
FILM NOIR.
Tough Alan Ladd returns home from serving his country with two other friends, only to find that his wife has been murdered. The young star of course, investigates with the help of a floozy, played by Veronica Lake! There's some snappy dialogue here and a superficial ending that didn't make much sense which appears to be forced, but because it was responding to war sensibilties, it was understandable why it ended the way it did!
3 out of 4.
