Review of The Blue Angel (1930) by Glenn B — 30 Nov 2007
Dietrich gets the press usually, but to me this is Jannings' show: his portrayal of a man destroyed by lust is one of the greatest screen things ever. His final scene/meltdown will haunt me forever.
It's too bad he worked with the Nazi propagandists later in his life, but great artists have not always been the best humans.
