Review of The Blood of a Poet (1932) by Megan P — 15 Nov 2007
Sang d'un Poete was the first of its kind. Not even Eisenstein got close to what Cocteau envisioned and accomplished. Cocteau set out to re-define the meaning of the word poet. Poet is an artist of any trade, he believed.
Cocteau was a writer, a painter, a sculptor, a filmmaker, and used countless other mediums to express himself. A true genius and original man of vision. My favorite part of the film is toward the beginning with the poet's hand.
.. Publishing my master's thesis in the spring- you may read my in-depth analysis on the Orphic Trilogy then! Please add this to your netflix!
