Review of The Blob (1988) by Michael S — 01 Oct 2013
I remember when I watched this movie as a kid - I loved it to bits. I was a hardcore fan of horror movies and this was like totally off the charts. However, when I saw it now, it didn't have the same impact as I once had experienced it. Guess, it comes with age and the modernization of technology - which by no means can be given a fair comparison if you compare an 80' movie with today's standards.
Director Chuck Russell - surprisingly the same director who directed Mask & A Nightmare on Elm Street 3, delivers a decent job. The Creature Effects & the Storyline thought not fast paced, still keep your attention right from the beginning to the end. And if there is anything worth watching, it is how Kevin Dillon looks like as a young kid.
Moment of Truth.
If you haven' t watched it, watch it once and be amazed as to how special effects were those days and how they have evolved today.
