The Blob is great if for no other reason than it has the most unmenacing and ridiculous monster of all time. Toss in a Burt Bacharach score, one of Steve McQueenâ??s last films before he broke as a major star (and the last film he was billed as "Steven") and you find yourself watching the crème de la crème of 1950s horror schlock.
