It suffers from annoying long shots (that seem to drag on never-endingly), and overwhelming, repetitive elements. Yet, Sofia Coppola's take on the abrasive antics of shallow teens bathing in the materialistic goods of later forlorn celebrities really does tell a great deal about today's infatuated society, where today's generation's youthful naiveté and excitement is amplified by today's obsession of everything celebrity.

Of course, Harry Potter's alumni, Emma Watson, delivers what is the beautifully cinematographed film's best performance. The ending, a sad little gem, where Watson's criminal ("newly changed" from her experience) self-advertises her own website, really shows that, in all of the chaos these decadent teens caused, Nikki remained self-centred, and really does show the vanity of the terrible crimes committed.
