Review of The Bling Ring (2013) by Emily D — 13 Oct 2013
When will I learn? Sofia Coppola does not make good movies, this I know....so when will I stop watching them?
The only good thing I can say about this film is it portrayed authentic teenagers of this generation. During their hangouts they are whiny annoying, brats; I felt like I was hanging out with juveniles and being my 28 yr old self....I couldn't help but cringe. The entire film feels like this...even though it's filmed from an an outsiders perspective of this "story", Coppolla makes it so you feel like you are apart of their little click.
Entirely nothing happens in this film. They hop around robbing celebrities houses and the entire time you are wondering how are these lavish places so easy to access. When they finally do get caught, it encompasses maybe ten minutes of the entire film. There was honestly no reason to tell this story what so ever.
