Review of The Blind Side (2009) by Liz S — 28 Mar 2014
Sandra Bullock fully deserved the Oscar for her performance in this sensational movie of triumph and heart. Based on the real life story of Michael Oher who went from homeless to becoming a winning NFL football player, The Blind Side shows his journey when he is taken in by the caring Tuohy family who provide him with a roof over his head and a start to a more hopeful future.
Without cliches' and Hollywood cheese this is a genuinely sweet and uplifting story, the montage type moments are great especially when young S.J. Tuohy trains Michael in football. I find it hard to review dramas because whenever I watch one I'm either left with the same feeling of inspired or letdown by the movie, so what can I say about the Blind Side compared to other dramas? Well it's Oscar worthy, saying a lot about the acting and writing so that sets it apart, and Sandra Bullock is a talent force of nature.
