Review of The Blind Side (2009) by Michael D — 15 Jun 2012
'The Blind Side' has something special. It has something that we rarely see in films anymore and it is powerful, potent, and emotional. 'The Blind Side' is able to captivate the audience, enthrall us, make us rise from our seats and cheer, make us cringe behind the covers just peeking our eyes out, and make us cry like nothing before.
~No spoilers included.~.
There was something special about 'The Blind Side.' Something about it that caught me eye early on, keep it throughout, and left exiting stage right after the credits. Needless to say I loved the movie from start to finish and am going to do things differently with this review and just stick with one aspect of the film which I liked the most; the emotion.
Emotion is an immeasurable well of potential in any movie, any film, or any form of media. Hancock is able to tap into all forms of emotion and I truly think it shows throughout the movie. He takes us through a roller coaster ride of ups and downs and sideways and flips and anything you can imagine.
Overall the movie is a powerful combination of heart-breaking themes and heartwarming ideals. Under the cover of the entire film is the fact that it was based off of a true story and Hancock stuck close to that story. Sometimes it's just easier to make up details and ride with it for the Hollywood sell-out.
If you haven't heard of this movie.. Eek. If you haven't seen it see it please. If you have.. it's time to re-visit.
