I like Sandra Bullock as an actress, but she never seems to pick the best projects for her. "The Blind Side" is another film which, to me, falls just a bit flat.

Bullock won herself an Academy Award for Best Actress with this film, but her performance was not anything I would write home about (the only difference between her acting, and Lily Collins' acting as her daughter, was that Bullock had more lines to read). All the acting prowess goes to Quinton Aaron in his film debut, portraying Michael Oher. Oher was a character that I could feel compassion and sympathy for. I struggled to with the Tuoheys.

Perhaps that was something to do with the overtly religious agenda the film placed on the white characters (with the exception of the tutor Miss Sue, but then again, she is *gasp* a Democrat). Just due to them being residents of Tennessee, we can probably assume where their spiritual tendencies lie, and bringing it up too much distracts from the plotline and alienates the audience.

Overall, this film has some nice moments which are worth watching, but there are some gaping holes in this film which detracted from the overall package to the film's detriment.
