Review of The Blind Side (2009) by Sergio R — 11 May 2013
My mom saw this movie and she loved it. My friend Stephen saw this movie and he liked it. And now, I finally saw THE BLIND SIDE and I thought it was both very funny and very entertaining. The movie is based on an incredible true story about a traumatized and homeless African-American boy (Aaron) who later becomes an All American Football player and 1st round NFL draft pick to the Baltimore Ravens, all thanks to the help of a caring southern woman (Bullock) and her family.
I did root for Sandra Bullock to win the Academy Award for Best Actress, luckily she did win it and I think she deserved it. I thought Bullock's performance as the fiery and well-to-do Leigh Anne Tuohy was one of the best performances Iâ??ve ever seen her in.
I think she was the perfect choice to play her and Iâ??m glad she accepted. Quinton Aaron was terrific as Michael Oher, as have Tim McGraw as Bullockâ??s husband Sean Tuohy. Jae Head who plays Sean â??S.
J.â?? Tuohy, who â??helpsâ?? Michael with the game of Football, was hilarious to watch. Ray McKinnon was also the perfect choice for the role of Coach Burt Cotton. I also thought Kathy Bates was good as Michaelâ??s tutor Miss Sue.
Hands down, John Lee Hancock (The Rookie) directed a very entertaining movie with lots of laughter and lot of heart.
