Review of The Blind Side (2009) by Kyle C — 26 Jul 2015
I've always loved this movie. It has this relatable charm to it that few movies can duplicate. It tugs on the heartstrings as you want Michael Oher to achieve success and happiness, even before you know how he'll do so. You also get to see the creation of one big happy family. It is very sweet what they did for this man.
Ironically, it's the relatability factor that some people don't like about this movie. As in nothing world saving or unique happens in this movie. The movie just talks about life. Does that make this movie forgettable sometimes? Sure, but that's how life works too. Things tend to drag. Trials are overcome and dealt with and rewards are given to those who work for it. It's that type of storytelling that makes this movie special to me. Sandra Bullock is great, the emotions are raw and the characters work well off of each other. This true story is one to be inspired by.
