Review of The Blair Witch Project (1999) by Dan D — 05 Dec 2012
The Blair Witch Project has been on my list since my introduction to horror at 13 years old.
The best part of this movie is to see the beginning of "found footage" horror. This movie inspired the creators of "Paranormal Activity", "Chronicle" and "Cloverfield". Without The Blair Witch Project, these stories wiould be very different.
The plot is good and the decent into madness is equally powerful. The end had both fear and awkwardness. It seemed so unfitting, yet it worked.
The acting wasn't bad except for Heather Donahue, her voice was clearly acting and I wanted to slap her through the whole movie.
It was worth a see, just to see the beginning of a horror genre.
