Review of The Blair Witch Project (1999) by Jez M — 02 Nov 2013
Built an atmosphere of dread and isolation so successfully that it kickstarted an entire genre. Few if any found-footage movies released since have been half as effective, and none have been anywhere near as influential.
A lot of that power derives from the ingenious production - the actors really WERE scared witless in the woods.
