The much loved and much hated inspiration of the "found footage" films is, in my opinion, a landmark of modern horror that has yet to be equaled, no matter how many times it is repeated or referenced.
It stands as the source of countless new (and inferior) installments in the genre, and one of the most terrifying films I have ever seen.
