Was interested in seeing this film for the intriguing premise that was marketed. After watching The Black Phone, I can safely say my interest was justified. However, the film suffers from some oddities - plot holes, unnecessary story points, etc.
But, even with these flaws it is still an enjoyable horror movie that tries something new and I appreciate that.
