Review of The Black Hole (1979) by Eric O — 25 Nov 2007
As a kid I used to have these strange dreams/nightmares. I now know where they came from â?? they were what I remembered from the last 6 minutes of this film. Maybe someone can explain the ending to me, especially the scene with Maximillian and crazy scientist and all of the fire.
I'm glad that I finally got to see this film. I had a pop-up book as a kid and now I understand the whole story. A story with great potential â?? I just wish it was better. The special effects are amazing! The scenes are remarkable. Well worth seeing for that. I wouldn't mind seeing a remake of this film in the future â?? just rework the dialog.
Oh, great. I just watched the making of this film and the son (matte effects supervisor) nor the father (visual effects supervisor & production designer, didn't even know what the ending is supposed to mean, or wouldn't say, so how am I supposed to know?
