Review of The Black Hole (1979) by Lee B — 27 Aug 2009
Another one of these gems from childhood, Black Hole was a staple reward for good behavior at school. It's a beautiful film, -specifically the ship interiors itself- but that's about all that goes for it as not even Norman or the Co Pilot for Airwolf could save this film from a story that just limps along to a disjointed plot and emotionless dialogue.
Sure the kids will love it and relive your fears of Maximillian showing up in your bedroom at 3am and wonder if the Earth is in danger of getting swallowed up by a Black Hole. Unfortunately this film holds no interest to anybody in between children and those adults waxing nostalgically, therefore I'd endorse an updated remake of this film.
