Review of The Black Hole (1979) by Aj G — 23 Oct 2010
A surprisingly dark entry from Walt Disney Pictures...and one of my favourite movies when I was a kid. The special effects in this film are quite striking (for 1979) and, due to some stellar acting from the cast, the characters in the film are ones you actually care about as the story progresses.
Some people say it tries to emulate Star Wars...I say, now that the Star Wars prequels have decimated the Lucasfilm universe, that the emulation argument no longer carries any weight. I saw a Black Hole poster in the Tron Legacy trailer.
Does this mean a Black Hole remake is in our future? Time will tell I guess.
